Cancel user card

Cancel User Cards Profile is EPL-CANCEL

This profile is used to cancel the customers' card.

This may be done at the customer's request, or to cancel a card mistake in registration.

If a customer wishes to cancel their library membership (e.g. moving from area), advise customer of any checkouts or amounts owing on the account. 

If no fines or fees are owing:

Cancel any outstanding holds on the card (cards are not purged from the system if there are outstanding bills or holds).

Bar the customer's card

Add the following note to the card: "Customer requested card cancelled MMDDYYY”

Change customer profile to EPL-CANCEL:  see Modify userhttps://manuals.epl.ca/uim/modify-user

This will purge the customer's card from the system the following month.

Cards are purged the 15th of each month

 

If fines or fees are owing:

Customer pays overdue fees and charges owing on the card. If there are lost items on the card, or the charges are in excess of $100, forward the account to the Associate Manager of Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Services.

Bar the customer's card.

Add the following note to the card: "Customer requested card cancelled MMDDYYYY.”

Change customer profile to EPL-CANCEL:  see Modify userhttps://manuals.epl.ca/uim/modify-user

This will purge the customer's card from the system the following month.

Cards are purged the 15th of each month
