PBK Collection

PBK Collections Overview

  • Paperback copies may be added to either of EPL’s two print collections:
  • the hardcover/permanent (regular) collection by the Collections Librarians, or
  • the PBK collection by EPL's print vendor via Automated Release Plan (ARP).
  • Effective Nov. 10, 2025, all newly acquired Adult and Teen PBKs will have a three-letter spine label applied. They will be interfiled with the hardcover/permanent fiction collections. These will continue to be sent directly to branches.
  • Existing Adult PBKs will move from being shelved separately to being co-located with the hardcover fiction collection (which have three-letter spine labels). They will be shelved alphabetically at the beginning of each section by author’s last name. Horror, Inspirational, and Thriller PBKs will be shelved alphabetically at the beginning of each section by main entry in the General fiction section.
  • Existing Teen PBKs will move to being co-located with the Teen fiction hardcovers. In this case, both the Teen fiction PBKs and Teen fiction series PBKs will be co-located together, shelved alphabetically at the beginning of each section. Teen fiction paperbacks first, followed by teen fiction series and then the general teen fiction hardcover collection.
